Stephen R. Moorhead, Moorhead Law Group’s Founding Partner, was named the Business Leader of the Year by the Greater Pensacola Chamber at the 64th Annual P.A.C.E.* Awards event held March 18, 2024. The award recognizes leadership excellence, innovation, community involvement, and overall contributions to the local economy. In accepting the award, Moorhead said, “My boys left Pensacola after college for the bright lights of bigger cities. Now, thanks to a lot of work by a lot of people, Pensacola is not the place it was 15 or even 10 years ago. It has become a place that is attractive to businesses and growing families, and I am proud to report that all my sons have now returned to Pensacola, bringing my grandkids with them.”

Moorhead has been a practicing attorney in the Pensacola community for more than 30 years. He is Board Certified in Real Estate Law by the Florida Bar, is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer for 15 years. Steve serves as the General Counsel for the Homebuilder’s Association of West Florida and is an active board member for Achieve Escambia, ReadyKids!, and the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.

Steve is a sixth-generation Floridian and is a graduate of Woodham High School in Pensacola. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University in 1983 and his Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1986.
